Follow the D242 to a T-intersection / Turn right (north/east) onto the P450
After a few hundred meters Ulwazi Research @ Intibane Camp will be on your right.
NOTE: Do not enter “Intibane” as a destination into your GPS system. Please enter the N2/D242 turn-off coordinates (-27.885458, 32.184646). Otherwise the system will take you onto very bad roads 🙂

Where is the nearest airport?
The nearest airport is Durban (a 3-hour drive from Thanda Safari). Transfers between the airport and Thanda Safari/Intibane Lodge will be arranged for you if required. Please arrange your flights to arrive into Durban no later than 14:00 on the day of arrival and departing from Durban anytime after 12:00 on your day of departure.
Do I need a visa?
This is dependent on your home country and the length of time you plan to stay in South Africa. A number of countries allow you a 90-day tourist visa free of charge; however you MUST note that you are entering South Africa on vacation. If you want to stay in South Africa longer than 3 months you must contact the South African embassy in your home country and ask for all the information that you need in order to apply.
Do I need Travel Insurance?
It is mandatory that you have travel insurance. There are many companies which cover basic holidays in Africa but please make sure that you are specifically covered for safari and bush-walking. Other activities in the area that you may want to book in your free time could include horse-riding, scuba-diving, zip-lining and sky-diving among others. Make sure you are covered for these.
Vaccinations and Malaria
KwaZulu-Natal is in a low-risk malarial zone, however, if you are wishing to visit Mozambique or Kruger National Park during your stay, these areas are in the malarial zone. Please contact your doctors to understand the full suite of vaccinations that you may require.
What is included in the rate?
Your programme and training*, all meals and accommodation while staying at Intibane Camp.
* Depending on the programme you select, your rate will also include the following: photography workshop, ‘track & sign’ and selected other nature topic tuition.
What is Excluded?
Flights, telephone calls, airport transfer, medical bills, laundry, WiFi access, drinks, weekend trips and any personal expenses incurred while not at the camp.
